In the Zephyrhills office of Gardner Audiology, we see many United Auto Worker (UAW) retirees. There seems to be a large community of retirees in this area. Many of these people have hearing aid benefits through their retirement plan.
In March of this year, there were some major changes in this benefit for many of the retirees. This change opened up the ability to obtain hearing aids for both ears. Previous benefits were often a fixed amount that would not cover both ears. If someone has hearing loss in both ears that can be helped with hearing aids, aiding both ears typically leads to better understanding, especially in noisy settings. This new benefit offers hearing aids with no out of pocket, as well as the ability to upgrade to better technology for a reasonable co-pay.
If you are a UAW retiree, please call us at 1-800-277-1182. We will be happy to check your benefits to see if you are eligible for this updated program. If you are not eligible, you may still have another benefit available. Call us today!
